Crossovers, Crossovers, and more Crossovers

You know what? Is it just me or is everybody else getting sick of crossover stories too? I mean how times does the hulk need to fight Superman??? I mean really Marvel and DC, I just don't care anymore...although...I will say this that Marvels newest book The Hulk meets Alf is the best thing that I have ever read. It's action packed, dramatic and dare I say it, even a touch moving at times. It starts off with Alf finally leaving the Tanners house. He has been accepted to Harvard School of Science as an exchange student. While he is there he befriends a nice older janitor friend named Bruce Banner. Bruce is always working late at night by the biology department. He brings the mop and bucket, but there is no mopping because he is trying to cure himself of the disease that he in fact gave to himself. Then there is this flashback sequence where they try to reinvent the whole hulk story. It turns out that Bruce was driving his wife to the hospital because she was going into labor. As he turns a corner a mack truck seems to come out of nowhere and hits them. Bruce is thrown from the car and he runs back to try and save his wife and unborn child. Then this part is AWESOME, the artwork alone is riveting. Bruce can't get his wife out because she is stuck but he has clear view of her privates...he reaches inside her and pulls out his baby. When he goes to put the baby down, the whole entire car blows up and kills his wife. Bruce then runs to the nearest hospital where the doctors, after hours and hours of work save Bruce's son. However, Bruce brings his new born son to his Aunts house. His aunt agrees to watch over David (Bruce's son) while Bruce does whatever he needs to do to deal with the loss of his beloved wife. Bruce then trys to tap into his adrenaline. He wants to know why he couldn't save his wife. So he figures the best way to tap into his adrenaline is through the use of gamma radiation...NO DOUBT...that's what I would do. Then that ends that portion of the book. The reinvention part is done with and then it continues onto the present day.
So next what happens is great, Alf is in the cafeteria trying to order cat but Havard School of Sciences don't serve cat. So Alf decides to take the whole school hostage. This makes bruce angry and he turns into this big green hulk. The Hulk leaps behind Alf and punches him. Alf doesn't even flinch. It would appear that the Hulks strength is no match of the thick alien skin of Alf. Alf then winds up and punchs the hulk square in the junk. The hulk screams like a little girl and runs away. However, Alf chases him. Alf is not going to let this Hulk try and thwart his plan again. He catches up to the hulk and Alf rips out the Hulk's eyes and make him eat them. Then Alf rips out the Hulk's tongue and raps it around the Hulk's neck. Alf continues to strangle the Hulk until he passes out. Once he passes out, he turns back into the janitor and Alf realizes that he has hurt the only friend he has made since he left the tanners. Alf decides that he can't live with himself and lets out this high pitched yell which is so high pitched that it kills every single living organism in the world and then the entire planet implodes and then, silence. It's a great story with great artwork. I highly reccomend picking it up.
